Power Systems Engineer — A Life Built on Precision and Endurance

From the coast of Italy to decades of engineering across the United States, my journey has been defined by discipline, resilience, and quiet strength.

Chapter I 1956 — Genoa

Born By the Sea

I was born on January 19, 1956, in Genoa, in the northwest of Italy — a port city carved into hillsides where ships, salt air, and centuries of craftsmanship shaped daily life. Raised between Italian and Swedish heritage, I grew up with a strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and respect for hard work. My earliest lessons were not spoken; they were watched — in how my elders fixed what was broken, how they kept their word, how they treated tools with the same care as people.

Chapter II The Atlantic

A New Continent

Life later took me across the Atlantic, where I built a career and a life in the United States. The crossing was not just geographic — it was a reset of language, climate, and expectation. What carried over were the values: do the work, finish what you start, leave the system better than you found it. America gave me scale; Italy had given me standards.

Chapter III Four States

The Long Work

Over the years, I have lived and worked in Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and Texas — adapting to new environments while staying grounded in my values. Each region taught its own lesson: the hurricanes of the Gulf, the cold fronts of the Carolinas, the vast grids of Texas. Power systems do not forgive shortcuts. Neither does life. I learned to respect both equally.

Chapter IV Today

Integrity, Carried

My journey has never been about shortcuts. It has been about consistency, commitment, and doing the work with integrity. Today I carry the same standards I was raised with — quieter now, perhaps, but unchanged. The work continues in different forms: mentoring, reflecting, listening. Some careers end. Others simply enter a different chapter.

The Philosophy
Life does not always give you what you expect.
But it gives you the chance to endure, to adapt, and to continue.

A Loyal
Pause.

Life has not always been fair. I lost my wife after a long and difficult battle with ovarian cancer. That chapter changed everything.

Today, I share my life with Duchess, my Labrador. I have had her since she was just a few weeks old. She is loyal, calm, and always present.

In many ways, she reminds me of the importance of quiet moments, consistency, and unconditional companionship.
